Our fascination with goats began in the 1980’s during frequent fishing trips that my husband, Keith, and I took to the island of Jamaica. I was always watching the goats there and trying to catch a baby to hold. In 1993, we bought 10 acres of property in Brooksville, FL, and started raising Nubian goats. This was the beginning of Jamacre Farms. Due to the high demand for meat goats, we purchased a non-registered Boer buck to breed to our does. He was fine, but I did not like his bad attitude.

In 2005, I visited a Boer goat farm in Brooksville called Soaring Spirit Ranch. At that time, I knew nothing about Boer goats, bloodlines or conformation. I purchased four Boer does and a beautiful USBGA National Grand Champion Boer buck named Soaring Spirit Cupid, whose sire was Eggsplosive, also a USBGA National Grand Champion and son of Ennobled EGGSfile. This was my introduction to the wonderful Boer breed and their gentle nature. Soon after, our goat journey took a new direction with showing and building our Boer herd.

Since then, we have shown at ABGA, USBGA and International BGA shows in Florida, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. Our herd has achieved multiple Grand Champion titles throughout the southeast. Our herd sires come from Eggsfile, Magnum, Ruger, Eggnormous and Box Car Willie.

We have built our herd to meet the criteria of good conformation and heavy meat and muscling. All of our does have excellent mothering instincts with few health issues. We usually have 30 to 50 goats and three to four generations on the property at all times.
